G.A. West is seeking a qualified NCCER Instructor to help launch and lead training for our new apprenticeship program. This role offers flexible scheduling, can be structured as full-time or part-time, and may be worked from our home office or remotely. Minimal travel is required, with some in-person collaboration expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver training on specific construction crafts (e.g., carpentry, welding, electrical, masonry) using the approved NCCER curriculum and established instructional techniques.
- Provide practical, hands-on instruction and develop plans for projects to teach students the skills needed for their trade.
- Evaluate student progress, administer tests, and assess their practical skills to ensure competency and meet industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, test grades, and progress in the NCCER Registry system.
- Use pre-built lesson plans, PowerPoints, and online resources provided within the modular NCCER curriculum framework.
- Organize and maintain the necessary classroom and practical instruction supplies and equipment and advise students on all required safety measures.
- Provide feedback to supervisors on trainee progress, identify common strengths and weaknesses, and suggest program modifications.
- Attend meetings and training sessions to stay current with the latest NCCER curriculum and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Must hold a valid NCCER Instructor certification, NCCER Master Trainer certification or a NCCER Construction Site Safety Master certification.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective lessons, adapt to different learning styles, and motivate students.

- A strong background and work experience in industrial construction
