G.A. West's sister company, Legacy Equipment is seeking a skilled and dependable Automotive Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of automotive systems and be capable of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of vehicles. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment where quality, safety, and customer satisfaction are top priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair vehicle issues including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, and brake replacements.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical problems accurately.
- Follow manufacturer and dealership repair guidelines and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle status and repairs needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Document all work performed in service records or repair orders.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certifications a plus).
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
- Familiarity with repair software and diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working on multiple vehicles makes and models.
- State inspection and emissions certification (if applicable).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
