Safety Program
G.A. West & Co., Inc. is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all employees through training, awareness and presence. We currently have one of the most comprehensive pre-employment safety training programs in the southeast. The employees are required to complete a two day orientation process. This includes a 100% drug screening and three hour orientation with a hands on demonstration of proper fall protection inspection and 100% tie off maneuvering. The second day is a mandatory 10 Hour OSHA based compliance course.
In addition to pre-employment training, we have a stringent equipment certification program for all potential operators. Both practical and written examinations are given following equipment specific training. The safety department also has a very proactive stance on corrective safety actions. As well as field safety coordinators that are applied to job sites that meet the general criteria for site specific safety. “Our strength is our employees.” Keeping our employees’ safety and heath at the forefront of our values produces efficiency and the highest quality of work to compete in the ever changing markets of today and well into the future.
